The Ambassador Hotel

Best Historic Hotel in Kansas City

The Ambassador Hotel

Indulge in timeless elegance at the Ambassador Hotel Kansas City, Autograph Collection.

Built in 1920, the neoclassical architectural building brought life to downtown Kansas City with seven floors and lobby walls sheathed in marble. Following a remodel in 1954, the property then served as an office building and nightclub before sitting vacant for eight years prior to its $7.5 million renovation that restored the building to its historical charm.

Opening in 2012 as the Ambassador Hotel Kansas City, this upscale boutique hotel located in the Power & Light District is just a short walk from the Sprint Center and many of the top downtown Kansas City attractions such as the Kaufmann Center for the Arts and the Kansas City Convention Center, among others. Moreover, the Ambassador is conveniently situated halfway between River Market and the Crossroads Art District

43 refined contemporary rooms and suites offer marble bathrooms with designer toiletries and feature free Wi-Fi, 24-hour room service, flat-screen TVs, minibars, in-room safes and plush bedding.

Amenities include a fitness center and complimentary transportation within a 5-mile radius, a business center, concierge service, and two comfortable meeting rooms.

The hotel’s restaurant, Reserve, serves up delicious American cuisine and great cocktails for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Each Saturday evening, some of the city’s best jazz musicians put on show from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m.

The Ambassador Kansas City is an independent boutique hotel that forms part of Marriot’s Autograph Collection, which includes 95 luxury lifestyle hotels found in the world’s most desirable destinations. Exactly like nothing else, each hotel has been hand selected for its distinction as an iconic landmark, for its remarkable design and its best-in-class hotel amenities.

Currently, the Ambassador Hotel is undergoing an expansion that will add an additional 70 rooms. The project is expected to be completed early 2019.
